PlantWhy

About

PlantWhy answers the questions people ask about their plants: how often to water, how much light they need, why leaves turn yellow, and what to do about it. Every guide covers a single plant, with a quick summary at the top and step-by-step care below.

Our guides are written from general horticultural knowledge and checked against reliable sources such as university extension services and the ASPCA plant toxicity list. Values such as watering intervals depend on climate, season, pot and room, so they are marked as estimates. When in doubt, watch the plant and the soil rather than the calendar.

We never give pesticide or medication doses. For pets that may have eaten a plant, contact your veterinarian.

PlantWhy is published in eight languages. The English edition uses imperial units; the other editions use metric units.
